Insurance Commissions

To alleviate what might otherwise be a significant, redundant cost burden for our fiduciary services, we offer our clients the option to engage our services under a commission-contingent arrangement.

In other words, like in a real estate transaction where a fiduciary-bound buyer’s agent is almost always paid by the property owner/seller, we also can be paid by the makers of the life insurance products our clients buy.  In offering this compensation alternative, we recognize that we open ourselves to critique and skepticism about our objectivity.  This is understandable given the abuses of customers and the obscurity of commission information in the industry.  We contend that the chief problem with commissions is not that they exist, or that they are too big, but that they are hidden.  Regardless, until such time as the commissions for life insurance transactions are not irreversibly embedded in the costs of the vast majority of life insurance products available for purchase, we feel that our fiduciary commitment to serve our clients’ best interests would be incomplete without including this compensation alternative:  the opportunity for the insurance companies to “pick up the tab” for our services. It is, in fact, our default assumption.

No matter what, we put the decision for our manner of compensation squarely in each client’s hands. As as for the commissions themselves, we put everything in plain view.

License Limitations

The insurance professionals and proprietors of Fiduciary Life maintain various licenses and/or credentials which are limited by both geography and industry.  The internet, however, broadcasts our web-site to anyone, everywhere. Even so, our web-site and any written or verbal dialogue engendered by it are not intended as advertisements or solicitations for business in any service categories or geographic areas in which we carry insufficient licenses to conduct business.

More specifically, we at Fiduciary Life do not carry any securities licenses whatsoever. We do not sell or recommend securities (investments). And in no case does Fiduciary Life offer any sort of investment advice as defined by the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 or any subsequently or previously enacted regulations or laws.
